About Poppin Kakes

And the mastermind behind the KAKES

Poppin Kakes is a small business that was founded in 2016 by Kayla after friends and family encouraged her to take her baking passion to the next level. Her love for cooking and baking as well as a bit of curiosity, helped her discover her gift for creating what can only be referred to as edible art. She taught herself to fold fondant, sketch child figurines, and more. Given her local success in the Washington, D.C., metro area Kayla has been featured on WJLA 24/7 News and ABC7 and Medium for her work and impact on the small business community. Outside of Poppin Kakes, Kayla loves to spend time with her loving husband and adorable son.
